BSc (Hons) in Rehabilitation Engineering

Rehabilitation Engineering is an interesting and varied career which will appeal to students who have an interest in both engineering and healthcare, and who have the ambition to apply their skills in an area of real social value.

The NHS has traditionally recruited experienced engineers and retrained them in rehabilitation engineering technology. There was previously no direct route into the profession from school leaver level. This new programme has been specifically designed to provide all the education and training required for graduates to obtain an entry level position in the NHS as a Rehabilitation Engineering Technologist. The course has been developed in collaboration the NHS, so place numbers are limited to meet the future workforce planning needs. This should ensure good employment prospects.

Applications are welcomed from school / college leavers with suitable 'A' levels or equivalent. Applications are also welcomed from interested candidates with work experience, who may be thinking of making a change in career. There are a limited number of places available for direct entry to year two of the programme for applicants who already have an HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering. For a course brochure please see the menu on the right hand side.Course fees will be paid by the NHS for successful applicants.

What do Rehabilitation Engineering Technologists do?
